Georgia Walker is a new trainer at the Fight4Balance charity, where her dedication and determination shine through in every aspect of her work. With a career deeply rooted in competitive swimming and a passionate commitment to special education, Georgia brings a unique blend of expertise and empathy to her role. Her journey from a young competitive swimmer at Ithaca Creek Swim Club to a national contender and educator is a testament to her relentless pursuit of excellence and desire to impact others positively.
From her early days in swimming, Georgia displayed remarkable talent and a competitive spirit, quickly progressing to compete at state and national levels. At age 15, she competed in her first Australian Swimming Championships in Adelaide, marking her entry into high-level competition. Her athletic career took a significant leap forward when she moved to Yeronga Park Swimming Club, where she honed her skills and competed at several more Australian Championships. In 2021, her swimming journey led her to the University of Queensland Swim Club, where she has achieved national finals appearances, been part of selective swim programs, and won Australian Championship medals in her specialty events, the 50m and 100m breaststroke. These achievements are a testament to her success and determination.
Parallel to her achievements in the pool, Georgia has been equally dedicated to her educational pursuits and professional development. For three years, she has worked at a Brisbane Special School, where she specialises in helping students with behavioural problems to manage their socialisation and emotional regulation better. Her commitment to fostering inclusive environments is evident in her comprehensive training credentials, which include CPR and First Aid, VNS seizure management, and Team Teach Level 2 training. She is also certified in three significant areas of swimming instruction: Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, Teacher Towards Competitive Strokes, and Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion.
Georgia is in one of her final semesters at Griffith University, eagerly completing her Bachelor of Education with a major in special education. She is eager to graduate in May 2025 and become a registered teacher who can effectively contribute to primary, secondary, and special education. At Fight4Balance, Georgia leverages her extensive background in sports and education to inspire and guide individuals towards achieving their personal and physical goals, making her an invaluable asset to the charity and the communities it serves.
