Jye, a distinguished coach at our facility, is a dedicated and passionate swimming professional known for his unwavering commitment to excellence and personal growth. His deep empathy and understanding of athletes, especially those with disabilities, highlight his remarkable character and inclusive approach. Jye's ability to inspire and mentor others reflects his genuine investment in the success and well-being of every individual he works with.
Jye's journey in the world of competitive swimming spans an impressive 15 years, marked by dedication, talent, and outstanding achievements. He has competed in three Australian Olympic trials, as well as countless other National competitions, showcasing elite skills and a pronounced ability for short course (25m pool) racing. Throughout his career, Jye has amassed a collection of Australian medals, including gold, silver, and bronze, both individually and as part of relay teams. With a specialty for backstroke, Jye’s desire for improvement has seen him refining his skillset in every possible way at the highest level for the span of his career.
Jye's swimming career began at Jamboree Heights Swim Club, where he trained for a decade. During this time, he achieved significant success at both state and national levels, establishing himself as a rising star in the sport. Seeking further growth and opportunities, he then moved to Yeronga Park Swim Club. Over the next eight years, Jye continued to excel, earning more medals and accolades. Currently, he is a member of the University of Queensland Swim Club, where he not only continues to achieve national success but also mentors younger athletes, guiding them through the ranks and sharing his wealth of experience.
In addition to his competitive achievements, Jye has dedicated himself to coaching and teaching. He has been a qualified AustSwim Learn to Swim teacher for 11 years and an ASCTA Development Coach for eight years. Jye is in the process of attaining his Certificates 3&4 in fitness to enable him to be a heavily involved trainer in Fight4Balance’s brand new All-Star Academy, the first ever purpose built High Performance Centre for people with disability. His coaching career includes a successful three-year tenure at The Swim Academy Brisbane, and an ever-evolving role at Yeronga Park Swim Complex, where he guided athletes to both state and national success.
Jye is pursuing a Bachelor of Education at Griffith University, majoring in Special Education. This academic pursuit complements his extensive practical experience in the field, including five years in an Education Queensland Tier 3 Behaviour Management unit. Here, Jye gained an intimate understanding of the complexities associated with behavior and disability, enhancing his ability to support and empower athletes with diverse needs.
Since 2020, Jye has been associated with Fight4Balance, where he has delivered and designed multiple programs, including swim, water immersion, and gym programs. His commitment to disability fitness is evident in his current project: designing and leading a High Performance Disability swim program with the ambitious goal of having an athlete compete at the Special Olympics. Jye's deep understanding and appreciation of the requirements and intricacies of working with disability athletes underscore his passion and dedication.

He is deeply invested in redefining disability fitness and is committed to creating well-rounded, healthy individuals.
